Land walker. That was a funny way to describe people. Though it did made sense when you looked at where she was coming from. As for her rant on why couldn't they just choose.. Evra knew only too well what she was talking about. It was a thought he struggled with himself for his case. Snake or boy? It was true, life would have been easier as just one instead of looking like half and half. He shrugged.
"Not even nature's perfect." He didn't believe that there was a 'they' that 'chose'. You lived and you died and there was nothing more than that. It was too cold of a world for fairytales. But if one wanted to think along those lines, they said everything happened for a reason. If he hadn't been born like this Evra never would have come to the Cirque. Maybe something good would come of it now that the bad was over.
Marina nodded, rubbing her shoulder. "You're kinda alot like me, aren't you Evra?"[/b] She asked, looking him from head-to-toe. He looked like he was in-between like her. But she could actually look normal sometimes, so she felt sorry for Evra.
Shaking her head, she leaned over and touched a wet finger to the side of his face, feeling the scales. She smiled and laughed slightly. "Feels alot like my tail, only your skin isn't wet."[/b] She said with a slight tug on her long hair. Marina sank back up to her collarbone into the water and looked out into the rain again.
Suddenly, another thought popped into her mind. "What about the snow? What's that like Evra?"[/b] She asked, her voice filled with excitement and curiosity. "Does it feel as beautiful as it looks?"[/b]
They were indeed alike in some ways. "Yeah. Only I'm half snake instead of half fish." he gave a small smile, letting her touch his face without drawing away. She counted as a friend, they were similar even with the difference and the difference of their lives up until now. She'd had it better in most ways but not not in others, as he was reminded when she asked about the snow. The snake-boy thought about it. "Sort of. It's cold." but other than that, snow could be great when they visited a cold place. He grinned a little at the thought of it. Beautiful like she said and a lot of fun. The cold was a drawback though; he wouldn't want to live constantly in a place where it always snowed. Maybe it was because of the snake blood that he didn't care for getting cold.
Marina smiled a dreamy, glazed over smile. "There wasn't any snow under water, it only froze the surface. Sometimes I remember being trapped under there for days until they drilled through."[/b] She said, thinking about being near Antarctica once when she was smaller.
She splashed the water out and around her tank with her fin, imagining what it would sound like to be out in it. But she pushed the thought back and smiled, tugging on a long strand of soaking aquamarine hair. "So, what's your act like in the show, Evra?"[/b] She asked, trying to distract herself from the land-walker pleasures.
It was interesting to hear about her but he didn't object to the change of subject. This was something easier to talk about. "It's usually the last one. When it looks like the show's over and everyone starts to leave my snake comes out and scares them. Then I go out and get it and show them what I look like, and that's pretty much it." Evra's act wasn't a very long one. He could impress the crowd with the ability of control he had over the snake but didn't have talents quite like some of the other performers. After a moment he saw fit to return the question. "What about you? Are you going to be in the show?" A real life mermaid wasn't something your average person saw every day.
