Altair turned around to see Darren standing up and his mental state changed completely. He had become so feral in trying to exact revenge on the boys that all sympathy left him. But as he turned he remembered that Darren was injured and he ran over to him at normal human speed again. He mentally scolded himself for losing control like that over a human. But he couldn't just say that Darren was just any human that was for sure. Darren reminded him so much of himself that it was hard not to grow such attachments to the boy. He had a blazing heart and he was true and humble. Altair certainly hadn't been humble in his... past life or not as much anyway he was barely comprehending that thought now even worse. If a person deserved respect and to be treated nice he did so but wouldn't do so until he knew they were worth it.
Altair looked Darren over quickly and checked him again for bruising or anything. "You shouldn't be getting up so quickly you could possibly pass out. No heroics just yet you gave us quite a scare for a second." Inside Altair was still seething as the scene ran over and over in his head. He wanted to make them really pay in blood but it was not his way and he would not take out his anger on mere mortal children. Though Altair was in that same spot not to long ago he despised that group. They could have seriously injured someone and Altair couldn't help think that could have been him. "Your not hurt right? You don't feel any sharp pains?"
Darren couldn't help but to smile at Altair being a worry wart. He couldn't help but be glad that the rest of the kids left after Altair went after them. "Your like a mother hen worried over her egg"He cracked up as the older teen made sure he was fine. Slowly the boy moved his arms and legs to shake off the shock. When he moved his neck there was a slight pain to it but nothing that was excruciating. "Nah I will live. Just a little sore, but it would be crazy if I didn't have any pain after that blow. He was like a truck"Darren said to ease some of his new friend's wariness.
Darren staggered a little but that was due to him standing up to quick instead up staying down for a moment. He wasn't the type to be down on an injury. A question bothered Darren and he decided to ask Altair. "How did you move so quickly? I thought I was imagining it, but I realized I wasn't. I'm just curious"He said calmly to the older teen with a soft whisper so no one else could hear him ask. For some reason he didn't want the others to know what he was asking.

Altair smiled knowing that Darren was Ok and that nothing serious happened. He was one tough cookie he had to give him that much. "Well I always wanna make sure my little egg head is alright." He ruffled Darren's hair and nudged him. "I still think we should hunt that guy down and make him pay for real." Altair momentarily was caught up in his anger until he heard Darren's question. His face was instantly expressionless and he turned to look at Darren. He knew he was caught and he didn't know how to handle the situation humans weren't suppose to know of their existence. But he couldn't lie to Darren and he definitely couldn't kill the boy if he reacted bad to the truth.
Altair was stuck he couldn't decide on what to do. Besides he doubted that Darren would freak out and run to the press. But could he handle the fact that the so called myth of vampires was actually true? "Um I don't know maybe it was just an adrenaline rush." Altair tried his hardest to make his lie sound true. It was the only thing close enough to the truth though. It was his vampiric blood that sent him into his superhuman state which was like an adrenaline rush.
Darren was closely watching his new friend as he reacted to his question. "Violence solves nothing Altair"He quickly answered the older teen about hunting down the other kid. He knew he had struck a cord when asking him about the incident that just happened. By the emotionless face Darren knew that Altair was having an inner battle with himself. When the answer to Darren's question came he had a suspecting feeling his friend was lying. The twelve year old wasn't the type to pressure people. If his knew friend wanted to lie so be it.
Darren nodded slowly"Yeah it could have been the adrenaline." The boy put his hands in his pocket as his head cleared up. The pain had dulled to a throb and he was able to block it out of his mind. "Any how now that the game's be ruined... what you want to do?"He asked with a smile.
