It was nice summer evening. The wind was blowing which made the on coming night so much better. Danille was sitting on a swing in a local park smiling among herself. It had been only a few days away from her mentor/adopted mother Anya. There was important buisness at hand on Vampire Mountain that needed its Generals which Anya was proudly one. Danille had suggested for Anya to flit to the edge of the mountain without her, but Anya had been reluctant. The halfling Vampire was stubborn and eventually gotten the older vampire to agree going without her. Anya gave Danille a good amount of money before she left just a few nights ago.
Danille smiled swing in the silent sunset. Her blue eyes looked up to meet her only companion and closest friend Mystic. Mystic was a wolf with piercing golden eyes that seem to read your very soul. Her and Danille were alike in many ways. Both are loners and very hard to trust people. They were also a great pair no matter where they went. "It just you and me now girl"She said to the golden eye animal. Mystic just nod in knowledgement as in understanding what her friend was saying which all in reality was true.

What was the point of traveling the world if the only thing you saw was the inside of the Cirque's tent? The half-vampaneze was not so much of a resident now as a tag-alonger who came and went as he pleased. He was the type of person who kept to himself and nobody could keep track of. On this evening Shendeth was walking on a quiet road in some strange town, going nowhere except wherever it led. The sun was setting. That was not a good thing, but he had never been too careful.. and there was plenty of time before it would turn completely dark. He reached out to run a hand along the fence that went along one side of the sidewalk, bordering some kind of park. Without effort, his black painted fingernails left deep grooves in the wood, but he took no notice.
When he arrived at the entrance he stopped, wondering if he felt like going in, when he picked up a soft voice carried by the wind. Well, the rest of the area seemed deserted. He followed it, and narrowed his eyes slightly at what he saw. A girl his own age, with a wolf. He didn't like that, or what it probably meant. But then he tried not to judge, and he would never strike the first blow. The nineteen-year-old walked over and leaned against one of the swing poles.
"Hello there. What an.. interesting pet you have."

Danille was quietly watching Mystic when she noticed the wolf looked away. In a flash Mystic's hair had stood on its ends as she looked at a figure walking toward them. It took a moment for Danille to realize that they weren't alone which instantly brought up her defenses. It could just be her imagination that made her alert or it was the fact that Anya had told her to trust no one is a town or city. As a small breeze drifted in Danille smelt the newcomer's scent. In a flash she was off the swing in a casual manner not wanting the other person to notice. Danille whispered something silent to Mystic. Mystic growls quieted down but her hair still stood up.
"Hello there. What an... interesting pet you have"The stranger's voice drifted to the vampire's ears. He look a year older then she did herself but looks could be deceiving. The golden eyes of the wolf watched zoomed in on the guy. Silently moving her hands to the pockets of her dark hoodie Danille decided to speak. "She isn't a pet... she is a companion"She said loud enough for him to hear. What was strange to her was that he smelt like a vampaneze yet he didn't fully look like one. Then it snapped in her head that he could only be half a one. Either way though she was guarded and watched encase he decided to lash out an attack.

Since he had apparently approached the stranger from upwind, he hadn't picked up her scent at first. However, up close the reek of vampires was unmistakable, if faint. It was a scent that made his skin crawl, but nothing slipped past his manner of calm casualness. One thing he had quickly learned was that if you didn't act threatening then the other person was also less likely to.. and if they did, well then they would find out their mistake soon enough. Who was there to make him fight fair? Shendeth carried a gun hidden in his belt and used it. Although hopefully he wouldn't have to on this girl. He had reason to fear and hate vampires in general, but not every individual. By no means was he a vampire hunter. All he wanted was for both the vampires and vampaneze to leave him alone.
Shendeth was not actually a friendly person, but they did say that friends could come from unlikely places. He looked down from the half-vampire, warily eyeing her companion that was the subject of introduced conversation. He'd never really liked dogs. Although this one actually did look interesting. "Oh, well.. does she have a name?"

Danille watched him carefully, but still stayed somewhat calm. He didn't look threatening and she had enough experience to get her out of this situation if one happened. She nodded carefully feeling soft fur touch her finger tips. She glanced down only for a moment to meet the wolf's eyes before looking back up. "Her name is of no concern to you, Newcomer"she said sharply not going to give any information to such strange vampaneze. She wandered where was his mentor or if there were any others near by. One she could handle, but if there was a group then she would die with honor.
She sat back on the swing with the black wolf in front of her. The swing would give her some leverage in escaping if it came down to it. She could feel the steel of her daggers hidden inside her boots press against her skin when she sat back down. Danille wasn't the first person to jump at the chance to make a friend... especially when it was a suppose enemy right before her.

Shendeth narrowed his eyes slightly. At least this was more normal; enemies were much easier to make than friends. If she insisted, he would be just as happy to be one of the former as the latter. He didn't have many friends, but he didn't have many enemies either. Why? They were all dead of course. Dead by their own foolishness. The half-vampaneze was intelligent enough to notice the stranger's choice of words. Newcomer. That wasn't an insult, and so it implied that she was actually more wary than hostile. Good for her, then. She ought to be.
There was no trusting strangers, and friendly act or not he wasn't about to trust her either. Looks could be very deceiving. Still, no cause for a fight. He straightened up and instead lightly wrapped a hand around the swing pole. More important than fighting, he could run. He replied to her declaration in a more sharpened voice of his own. The wolf's name he didn't care about, but the vampire's he wouldn't mind knowing. Not to do anything with, just to call her by. Or else he'd make up a nickname for her in his head and it wouldn't be nice. Of course, she gave off the impression that she wasn't stupid enough to give it.

"Hmph. If I didn't give you my companion's name what makes you think your special enough to know my name"She asked with a slight bitterness to her sharp tone. 'Who does the guy think he is?'She asked to herself mentally. Danille's feet stayed planted firmly on the ground as she studied the guy before her. From his sharp reply back she knew that he wasn't stupid. He didn't look stupid and seemed careful as he spoked. Mystic was sitting between her and the newcomer she seemed to on guard to trust the vampaneze. Danille's fingertips itched in the quiet conversation between them. She didn't realize that the sun was now completely gone for the night, and the moon slowly rose to the sky.
The moonlight glowed enough to let the half-vampire still see the guy clearly as ever. She slightly merged with the shadows which was a skill taught from the beginning by Anya. "Where's your mentor?"She asked letting curiosity get the better of her. She was still guarded... yes but curious. She has seen only full vampaneze in her travels. She had only killed a few only because she had to. She wasn't the type to go and kill just for sport she had to have a reason for it.

He half rolled his eyes. "Nothing. I didn't realize your name was so special, Vampire Princess." he replied sarcastically, since that was what she seemed to think she was.
The half-vampaneze raised an eyebrow a little at the girl's question. Genuine curiosity.. or an act. "And that's of no concern to you, now is it?" he replied with a smirk, using the girl's own previous words.
The truth was that he didn't have a mentor. But she had refused to give any information so far, and he wasn't going to be the first to give in, not yet anyway. Admitting he was alone might be the safe thing to make her more relaxed, but it could also be the only thing stopping them from attacking. And if that was something she would ask, the vampire probably had a mentor herself around somewhere.
Shendeth too noticed with dislike the full arrival of the night. That meant that there could be more vampires out. Moonlight shone down, bleaching his already pale skin and drawing out the contrast between that and his raven hair. Funny how he looked so much like a storybook vampire, and nothing like a vampaneze. Though he didn't much want to look like a vampaneze. Shendeth didn't need or want a mentor. He had gotten this far on his own. The idea that everyone would see him as just an idiot kid for many years to come, even if reality was far to the contrary, got to be very annoying in spite of its benefits.

Altair walked through the quiet neighborhood at a stroll. It was a very fine summer night it was too hot and the night air had cool breezes coming in every once in a while. Or well it didn't matter to Altair his vampire blood made him resistant to the weather. Even so it was a fine night a great night to feed as well which is exactly what Altair had done. Some bloke had been walking down a deserted block and Altair happened to have the need to feed. Unfortunately for him he's taking a five minute nap up against some store. He happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. But at least he would keep his life and he's wake up without remembering a thing.
Altair continued his stroll when a breeze came in from further down the block. Altair's sensitive nose picked up the scent instantly. It made his blood start to boil and reach for the swords hanging on his back that filthy stench was his enemy... no mercy. Altair picked up the pace following the scent to a park where he stopped upon the sight in front of him. His mind processed a few things at once. First there was two scents not one though in his bloodlust he only smelt the vampaneze blood first. Second it was a girl and wolf being approached by the vampaneze. And lastly it was that both were young almost the same age as him maybe they were but the fact that both were half vampire and vampaneze. Altair let go of the swords on his back he held less hate for half vampaneze since they weren't as blood driven.
Still Altair could almost feel the hostility in the air. "Hey is everything alright here." He stepped forward making his presence known. He was quite interested in the wolf at the girl's side but that would come later

Danille couldn't help but let a small smile come to her face. She could tell that neither one of them where going to spill anything anytime soon. "You are right, but I am no Vampire Princess"She said her blue eyes glowing in the moonlight. She noticed that Mystic's fur was beginning to lay down. She looked at the guy once more loving as she was surrounded by the shadows. For some reason she always felt safe hidden in the shadows even when she was a child. Danille's hand gripped the chains of the swing knowing that there were no other vampaneze that she could tell around.
So if a fight did happen to break out it would be even just the two of them. She was observing his size and analyzing everything about a person like Anya had taught her. The thing was the guy seemed hard to analyze then most people. He didn't seem like a threat, but then again he didn't seem full vampaneze anyway. Her small smile slipped from her lips as she welcomed the warm breeze. Mystic had laid down by her feet eyes still watching everything. With the breeze Danille smelt another scent... it was vampire.
Her eyes looked pass the vampaneze to one of her own clan. She didn't recognize the new guy but she did see the weapons. Deep down she knew she had nothing to worry about, but she didn't want a fight to break out on such a calm night. Danille watched the vampire before responding curtly"Everything is fine."

Well, it didn't seem like there was any cause to worry. Shendeth was about to tell the girl that he was right about a lot of things when a new scent and set of footsteps reached them. He turned around sharply, guard instantly back up at the presence of a second vampire. Dung, there were more of them. One on her own had been plenty. He took a step away from the swings in case he needed to run after all.
By the moonlight he quickly studied the newcomer. It was a guy, taller than him of course, who had some kind of weapon ready. However, he was young, appearing to be the same age as Shendeth and Princess over there. He relaxed a little, or at least on the outside. Being young meant they all could be in the same boat and as far as he could tell they were the only people in the area. He would have thought that the guy was with the half-vampire, after all how many separate vampires and vampaneze met up by coincidence. The girl's tone suggested that either that was not actually the case or they had been arguing. Probably the latter though it was never good to assume. "Yeah. Just fine."

Altair listened to sharp tone coming from the girl and he just gave a soft smile. "No need for the hostility just smelled a scent that caught me off guard." Altair turned to the boy quickly and looked him over. He didn't look like the rest of the vampaneze. He still looked fairly normal at least for now so maybe he wasn't feeding rapidly like the others. Altair let his hatred go completely he couldn't bring himself to end such a young life. Memories of him losing his humanity lingered in his mind always and he held life precious and some deserved to die but other... could be spared. He nodded to the boy and tried his best to give him a smile as well. There was no need to make unneccesary enemies.
Still Altair was on alert for any funny business. Any bad moves and his skill with his blades would slice him in a blink of an eye. "Well do you mind if I join you its been a while since I had some company. Vampire mountain has been some serious training for me wanted to get out and interact again." Altair looked briefly and curiously at the wolf and couldn't help but smile. He'd always loved wolves and the history that vampires came their blood line only made him more enthusiastic about his kin. He wondered briefly about the back story of the little companion but didn't want to intrude he was already treading lightly. He returned his eyes back to the two teenagers giving them his attention once again. It wasn't common that he ran into other vampires like this when he left the mountain so when he did he took the moment and seized it. Besides it would be nice to have some friends his age again other than Bijou. He didn't like being held on a pedestal to the older vamps 24/7. Always being told on how to improve himself some time with his peer would be a change of scene.

Danille knew her rudeness wasn't necessary, but it wasn't her fault it just the person that she was. She eased some when she watched Mystic walk up to the young vampire and nudged his hand. Danille knew that if he was any threat Mystic wouldn't have been walking up to him. She looked at both vampire and vampaneze. Still no one knew each other names and yet here they were all together which seemed like no coincident. To add to the weirdness they all seemed like the same age, but like she thought before appearances can be deceiving.
Her eyes glanced at the Vampaneze quickly before back at the fellow vampire. "I see why not to let you join us. I have no problem"She stated simply then looked at the other guy"Do you?" Danille didn't know why she bothered to ask him, but it was probably the polite side of her. She watched as Mystic walked around the vampire before coming back to her side. Her golden eyes met Danille's blue ones with curiosity. Danille simply shook her head as the wolf laid back down. She wondered how the vampaneze was taking the fact that there were two vampires now instead of her.

Shendeth stared silently at the vampire boy as he looked him over. No doubt the scent that caught him off guard was his own. Hmmph. He liked to think of the vampaneze scent, whatever that was, as well masked. Vampires smelled worse anyway. And it looked like the other two didn't know each other after all. Strange.. but to continue worrying about them now would be paranoid. Why not make some friends; he was the one who had approached the girl in the first place. As much as he hated it, he at least could see the hypocrisy in the hatred between vampaneze and vampires. They were hardly much different. So as long as they didn't believe it either.. they were indeed peers, not enemies. He glanced briefly at the girl before answering the second vampire. "If that's all you want, then no, I suppose not." This wasn't being unpleasant; it was the warmest welcome any stranger could get out of him.

Altair had been to various wolf packs around the mountain when they came and went. They were never really hostile towards him at least so far they weren't. Maybe it was just his vampire blood that made them more relaxed around him. But it came as no surprise that the young wolf came and nudged his hand. Altair laid out his hand palm up letting his scent be gathered before running his hand through Mystic's fur. Altair thought it would have been cool to have a wolf as a companion. Maybe he's search around the mountain for one though he knew the odds of that were stacked against him wolves stayed in packs usually. The odds that a wolf would take to him and follow him around would be slim and close to none. Altair was surprised though that the girl didn't tell him to go kick rocks. He was pretty sure she would have shunned him but you shouldn't judge a book by its cover.
Speaking of covers he looked up to the vampaneze boy and wondered just what he was going to say about it. Altair wasn't as hostile before but he still held his doubts sure enough it would take a while to keep him off the edge. From personal experience and what he heard the vampaneze were cold-blooded killers with no remorse. But a small very small part of him gave the vampaneze boy the benefit of the doubt. He was letting go of previous encounters briefly and letting him have a fighting chance. "Well if that's settled lets start with names. I'm Altair Silvera your regular but far from average vampire." Altair exuded his confidence letting it shine brightly. He was falling into his social like character to break the ice.
