The sun beamed down upon the earth, it scorched the ground, joyful rays battering the exposed areas, eyes and head of the green-haired vampire. Vancha March. For the humans it was a nice day, a time to go hiking, maybe to the beach even. Clouds floated in the bright blue sky and Vancha could faintly hear the sounds of birds cheerily singing as they collected, whatever birds collected. Fruits, nuts, seeds and worms for their children, they were pretty good at it too, but not having an interest in the birds he'd not know. He cared more for wolves than he did the birds and it always would be that way, never changing.
Taking a deep breath and coughing out a good glob of spittle, Vancha rubbed the mixture of green and clear white fluid onto is arm, he then stretched his arm outwards towards the sun. He stood in the shade underneath a tree, staring outwards at the sunny scenery. Most vampires were in bed in their warm cushy coffins by now, but not him! Ha! Wile they slept another day in fear of the sun Vancha fought his silent battle against the bright ball of sunlight in the sky thousands of miles away. He felt a burning in his eyes and beating in the back of his skull, his skin was hurting as though the light was too intense for his arm, and it simply hurt. His head was booming. Taking his free hand, Vancha punched the bridge of his nose rubbing his eyes slightly before glancing back towards his hand. Just another few moments.. he told himself as he saw visibly his arm begin to redden.
Vancha was forced to retreat, he yanked his arm away from the sun's rays and back under the safety of the shade. It hurt, no welts were forming yet but his skin was now a light pink that he was certain would redden with time, and it'd hurt terribly by nightfall but he did hope it was worth it. His skin had to start hardening against the sun, he knew the extended time in the sun might just have been him getting used to ignoring the pain but even if that was the car he'd not stop. There was a way to best the sun and he'd find it!
The vampire gave a slight shake of his head examining his arm, the longer he looked at it the more it seemed to sting and there came a point where he had to tear his eyes away from his painful sun-burn and he looked outwards at the path ahead. He decided he was going to stick to the shadows but not sleep just yet, he did still need to harden his mind from the painful headaches of the sun. Walking quietly in his purple animal hides, Vancha ran a hand through his hair rubbing his scalp slightly, then winced. It was to be a long day.
