Jet had only been a vampire for a few years, but the idea of being able to stay up for long expanses of time with little to no sleep had worked in his favor from the start. And what better way to spend his nights than partying?
For an ancient city such as the one he was in, it was rather youthful when it came to events. Music pulsed from every corner as groups of teens danced the night away. Jet was in the far corner, where there was a couple of private booths and lounges. He had listened to a pretty blonde rattle on about how her ex-boyfriend had cheated on her with half of her school for ten minutes before he finally knocked her out and had his fill of blood. He tousled up her hair so it looked like she had gotten lucky before wiping the blood off his mouth with his sleeve and leaving the girl behind. Jet soon found his way back to the dance floor, where a new song began to play. He smiled at himself, sleep all day, party all night, it's good to be a vampire.

Alcohol was almost his blood, the escape he ran to at every chance he got, an addiction. A chance to escape who he was. But not tonight, apparently. He sat alone at a private table, stubbornly gripping his second drink of the night, but the second craving would not go away. Which meant waiting until the wee hours for the place to empty, and staying sober enough to pull it off. He liked to drink the blood of drunks, not only were they less likely to be missed, it was two in one. There was plenty of time to choose a victim in the meantime. Shen downed the rest of the drink then slipped over to the dance floor amid the bright lights, music pulsing dizzyingly through his head and peoples' blood pulsing all around. He wasn't a dancer but he was light on his feet.. and soon the night was slipping by.

Jet took a deep breathe, his heightened senses telling him everything he needed to know at the moment. The man to the right of him was drunk, the girl on his left had been doing some sort of new drug, and the guy he was currently facing was none other than a vampaneze. He'd heard from other vampires how he should steer clear of them, that they were supposed to be sworn enemies, but he really didn't care. Both of them were out having a night on the town, nothing more nothing less.
He grinned wickedly and gave the other man a light nod to acknowledge his presence and was about to speak up when the DJ blasted out a song with to loud of a bass to be able to speak and be understood. Jet frowned, rolling his eyes. Oh well.

With the rush of other senses going on he did not notice anything out of the ordinary until he suddenly found himself face to face with some guy, who, wait a minute, was a vampire. Shen didn't like vampires and none had ever given him a reason to change that, but the few vampires he had met had seemed to be a rather old-fashioned, stuffy lot. Not the kind of people he'd expect to run into in a place like this.
He raised an eyebrow and gave the vampire a smirk in return. Good hearing or not, any kind of speech would be lost in the music. So he decided to just carry on, and then decided that one more drink really couldn't hurt. He made his way over to the bar, where the noise was dulled a bit. Putting his arms down on the bar, he leaned against it as he made his order. He kept one eye on the bartender mixing his drink, but didn't forget to be aware of what was going on behind him either.

Jet was soon once again lost in the crowd of dancers. He carried on for a few more songs until the DJ switched-mid song much to his irritation-to a slow song and announced for all the couples to hit the floor. He glared at the guy who had requested such a thing, he was obviously trying to impress a girl. So he did what half the crowd did, he left the dance floor in favor of another area. For Jet it was the Bar, where he ordered a decent drink and glanced around.

The bartender gave Shen his drink and he turned around to lean his back on the bar. He could see the dance floor and hear slow music drifting over. Yuck. He had a feeling that he would never fully understand romance. But that was an issue for another time. He took a sip, feeling the welcome, familiar burn of the hard liquor down his throat. Then he glanced around beside him, and almost immediately noticed that there was only a barstool between him and the vampire guy he'd seen earlier.
"Hey." he said. "Fancy meeting someone like you here." with a smile that might not have been completely genuine.
