Cloe walked lightly through the darkened forest, being as silent as a shadow as she moved. She was in unfamiliar forest, so she was very cautious about simply walking around, but she knew she needed to find a place to spend the night.
She placed her hand on a tree and steady herself. Slowly she allowed the wind to flow around her, lifting her high into the air. She sat down on a branch, relaxing as she looked around. So far, she had seen no one around. That was good for her. She liked being alone, or at least she was used to it. She had been alone for some years now.
Cloe yawned as she continued her visual search for a place to rest for the night. It was getting a bit cold, but that did not bother her at all. With a snap of her fingers, a small fireball touched her fingers. She warmed her hands with the fire and put it out an instant later.
"Much better...now a place to sleep...a place to sleep...where should I look?" Cloe sighed as she hopped down from the tree, using the wind to soften her fall. She land softly on the ground and started moving again, not really sure where she should go.

The Cirque people were sleeping. Markandeya didn't sleep. Markandeya didn't need sleep. He didn't know how.
All was quiet in the soft darkness. The zombie sat in a huddle in a corner of his small tent, feeling restless. He had nothing to, but he was feeling restless. Slowly, in short, stiff movements, he got to his feet and shuffled to the entrance of the tent. Nobody was around. He knew that he shouldn't leave the campgrounds, but luckily he had no need to. They were currently camped in the woods, with plenty of space for a nighttime walk all around. He slipped out between the tents, eventually putting a layer of trees between him and the dim lights still burning out in the camp.
He stopped in his slow tracks and stared into the night. His duller than average eyesight was no use in the pitch dark. However, he was definitely not alone. There was someone walking this way. He'd be fine with running into a vampire or a freak with insomnia. He was lonely, and the night brought people together. But he'd be happy to see a stranger for different reasons. Familiar people couldn't be touched.
Cloe was simply walking through the woods when she heard a raspy voice call out. Instantly her eyes turned from their normal Caribbean blue color to a Blood red color as her instincts flared in case of trouble. It was a side effect of being an Elemental; her eyes would change colors depending on what element she was currently activating. Because she was startled, her fire element has activated on its own; as a means to protect herself. Slowly she moved forward towards the sound.
It was then she spotted the guy who had called out. She realized that there was something very...off...about this guy. She could place why. Never the less she would not judge someone without even knowing their name, she just wasn't that type of person. "Hello." she responded as she looked at him.
Though she tried to keep her fire element down to a minimum, she could still feel it running through her veins; like liquid fire. Though that fire did not feel hot, not to Cloe. She cleared her thoughts as she looked at him; waiting for him to respond.

Stranger. Maybe not human. Strangers don't belong. Not now.
Even as he squinted at her through the semidarkness, now having a real person to associate with the noise he'd heard, he wondered if she was both a freak and a stranger. It was nighttime. The night was supposed to be dark, and yet there was light enough to see.. it was almost as if she was glowing. She might be able to notice the greenish tinge to his skin as well then, but she wasn't acting scared.
Question not answered. Who's she? Cirque staying here.
"Who are you?"
He stood still and watched her seriously like anyone else would upon finding a trespasser.
Once he strange man spoke again Cloe smiled a small smile. "I'm Cloe...who are you?" She could tell that this guy was different than a normal person. 'Is he human? Maybe he's something different?' She wondered to herself as she looked closely at him. Now that she was looking she could tell that his skin had a sort of green tint to it. It fascinated her a bit, since that was not something that you would see everyday.
Her smiled widened as she came to the conclusion that this guy must not be human...or at least not fully. It put her a bit more at ease, knowing that this guy was a bit like her. Not exactly like her, of course, but same in the sense that they were not normal in the everyday society. 'Um...Please don't be offended by this or anything...but your not exactly...human...are you?" Shed asked as her curiosity got the better of her. She was extremely embarrassed by her blunt question, not believe that she had simply came out and said that.
'Great. Now what happens if you find out that your just imagining the green tint? What happens if you find out that he really is human. Great job Cloe, you'll be on the run...again.' She yelled at herself through her mind. She hated when she just spoke before she thought about something. It tended to come out bad for her. She simply hoped not that he really wasn't human and truly got what she meant to say to him.

He blinked at her for a second before simply giving his human name in return.
"I'm Zeek."
It sounded a little strange, since he wasn't always called that at the Cirque. But strange was a good thing, wasn't it. Zeek frowned a little at the next question. She had seen right through him.. or right through the darkness at least. He wasn't offended; he was used to it by now. And she didn't seem to mean it as any kind of insult.
Zeek was human. Was. Don't know anymore.
"Not.. exactly." he echoed with a bit of a stiff shrug.
"Are you?" he tilted his head to the side. Why else would she think of that so soon? Humans didn't think that people who weren't human existed.
Cloe smiled widely as he said his name to her, happy to have a face with his name. She was happy that he was being open with her. Not all people like being open about themselves; she was like that in some ways.
She nodded when he stated that he wasn't exactly human. She had relieved and happy that he was not human because it made her more comfortable around him. "Hello Zeek...it's a pleasure to meet you." She said happily as her eyes changed back to their blue color; her element changing back to her normal and more natural water.
"Well I'm glad that you said that your not exactly human...otherwise I would have felt extremely stupid." She said as she chuckled a bit as her own worries. "And no...I'm not human...well not exactly anyway." She said as he looked at him calmly.
"I am...what some people call an...Elemental. Some people call us guardians of nature or something along those line." She said as she giggled a bit. She was excited that she had found someone that was a non-human; since he had been the first that she had met since she had traveled with her master. She missed the old man, but it was cool to be able to meet new people.

People at Cirque like that. Powerful. Old. Stranger not so strange. Because she strange. Strange like us.
Was it just the shifting light, or did her eyes just change color. Zeek squinted at her, trying to wrap his thoughts around what she said. She seemed nice and friendly. Most people outside the Cirque and its visitors weren't pleased to see him. So he also thought it was nice to run into someone like her for a change.
Well, he'd never met anyone exactly like her, an elemental or a guardian of nature. He vaguely wondered if there were many; she implied that she was not alone, but seemed happy to meet someone else who 'wasn't exactly human'. Zeek had no inhuman talents nor any kind of special destiny. Indeed, he was left feeling more human. He shifted a little where he stood but managed to give her a cracked-lipped smile.
"I'm dead." It was the only thing that made him not human. If one drew a tight line around that definition.
"But there are people.. more like you here too. Not-humans." he added.
She must know Cirque here then. Come to join? Visit. Or... coincidence?
Cloe's smile did not falter as he stated that he was dead. "Really? A good friend of mine is dead...well...he's a ghost, but he is still dead." She said as she giggled at her memories. She remembered how many different pranks that her friend and her had pulled on so many people, which happened to include her master. She couldn't help but miss the teen aged ghost that hung around Ireland, wishing she could see him again.
Cloe looked at Zeek curiously as he spoke. "There are other like me? Where...I was simply walking around to find a cave or something to stay for the night." She explained as her eyes light up. She would be excited if there were others around, especially if they were like her. Then she wouldn't have to hide her powers, but let them shine.
In her mind she had her fingers crossed, although she didn't show it on her face. She was hoping that his answer would be good.
Naturally, Zeek was curious about this friend of hers, if indeed they did exist. He wasn't a ghost. How many different kinds of dead people were there, and were there any like him? After all, the vampires were many and supposed to be dead in a way too, but they were something else altogether. All of the freaks were unique. He'd never met another intelligent zombie.
"You know.. people.. like us?"
Well, of course the Cirque didn't contain all the non-humans in the world. The new members had o come from somewhere.
Can show her Cirque. Maybe she join.
He smiled again. "Forget the cave. Come stay at camp. There are lots of us here.. but not for long. We travel through."
He watched her, waiting for her response. The Cirque du Freak welcomed everyone, for however long they wanted to stay. Even sometimes ordinary humans who came across it and had nowhere else to go.
Cloe tilted her head to the side a bit. "Do you mean know people that are not human...or people that are dead? I know both." She said as she paused for a moment. "My friend, Daniel is his name, is a ghost and we used to have all sorts of fun times together...We would pull pranks on people...like my mentor who is another elemental like myself." She said as she giggled a bit.
She thought for a moment at Zeek's offer. She knew it would be nice to have somewhere to stay, even if it was only for a while. 'Never traveled with a Circus before...could be fun.' She thought to herself as she smiled. She might be able to even have an act there with the Cirque, which she knew would be interesting. She would love to show off her powers without being called a harlot or witch all of the time. "Sure...it sounds like fun..." She said happliy as she smiled brighter. "Lead the way, friend." She added as she looked at him.

The cirque was a warm place and Altair would have said he came for the warm atmosphere but that wasn't so true. But even so when he visited he often stayed around a little longer. Sometimes to train other times to just enjoy being out of the mountain for a change. Now even he was just enjoying the night it was calm and inviting a nice night to feed while he had the chance. Being around the cirque left him with a few options willing options but he would hate to make his dinner spot the cirque. He already felt like he fed on Bijou too much as it was so he would have to find other means fill his hunger. Sitting at the base of a tree thinking about it wasn't going to help him much either. Maybe he could go into town and find someone to feed on and it was good that he was dressed the part. But then again he was a young vampire and he was still in with fashion.
Getting up he wiped off his jeans and yawned loudly taking a stroll away from the cirque. He could hear some voices not too far off and his curiosity took over. He was in pure vampire mode the stealthy killer mode. He blended in with the shadows as he spotted two figures. Both were non-human but the green one had a dead scent to him. Zombie? The girl however was different intiguing actually he couldn't exactly place her. She was of nature but not of nature it was confusing. There was something in a book about this back in the mountain but he couldn't exactly remember what I was. The best way to find out was going in head first right? Emerging from the shadows he spoke up loud and clear. "Well this is weird what are two people doing out here all alone at night? Wait I'm not interrupting anything right?" He smiled warmly but on edge as well. Naturally he was on guard though.

Cloe turned her head as Altair spoke. She smiled warmly as she spotted another person there. "Oh...hi. No your not interrupting anything at all." She replied as she greeted the newcomer. She looked at him and took in the man's appearance for a moment. She wondered what a guy was doing moving around the woods this time of night. Usually the only people that came out in the middle of the night was those who were non-human, or people who were lost.
She put the thoughts out of her mind of the moment and kept her mind on the task at hand. "My name is Cloe...what is yours?" She asked as she introduced herself. She didn't say anything about what she was because she had no idea if he was a non-human or not. Unlike most other non-human, she wasn't able to detect others like her right off the bat. She had to observe them for a bit to see if they were different. The idea of the newcomer possibly being a human made her nervous.

He listened to Cloe elaborate about her friend. Did he have any friends? He tried to be nice with everyone at the Cirque, and they liked him well enough, but he wasn't sure he had anyone like that. Zeek didn't have the same grasp of emotions as everyone else.. so what could fun mean to him? Maybe he'd had a best friend to have fun with in his first life, when he was alive, but had forgotten. That would be sad, but he hoped that whoever they were, they were alright and not too sad. How long had it been anyway? He wasn't sure.. but he had other things to do than try to dwell on it now.
Zeek want friends. But maybe Cloe is friend.
At her ready he turned in the direction he had come from, meaning to lead the way back to camp, but just as he was doing so there came an interruption from behind. Zeek looked back to see a third person standing there, a young man.
Another one. This is strange. Is something up?
"Well this is weird what are two people doing out here all alone at night? Wait I'm not interrupting anything right?" Zeek blinked at him when he spoke. No, there wasn't much of an interruption, they'd get to camp eventually. The strange thing was them all being there at the same time, and he wasn't sure if he'd seen this guy before or not. "Three people are weirder." he said, although not hostilely.
He was silent for a moment, then followed Cloe's lead when she introduced herself. "I'm Zeek." he added.
Cloe smiled at Zeek as she explained her friend to him. She was happy that she had found someone to talk to. 'I might be able to actually have a place to stay and people who accept me for me.' She thought to herself. She was excited to see other people like her...or sort of like her. She knew from her mentor that there were very few true elementals left in the world; thanks to all of the witch trials that had happened before. She was a true testament to that, after all. 'Though you never know...there might be people like me still around...' She thought to herself as she looked around a bit.
Cloe looked from Altair to Zeek, trying to figure out what to say now. She was trying to figure out if Altair was a human or not. It was important that she stayed away from humans. Generally, if she met a human if turned out very bad for her. "I would have to agree with Zeek...three people in the middle of the woods is weirder. So...what are you doing wandering this late at night?" She asked Altair casually. Maybe if she could find out why he was out here...she could find out what he was.
