Cloe walked lightly in the dense forest; unsure of exactly where she was going. She was tired, but happy to be away from any towns. Being away from towns meant that she was able to relax better than if she had been in a town. 'Normal humans always find out about me if I'm in a town for too long.' She reminded herself saddly as she continued forward. It was true that being in a area with normal people always seemed to cause problems for her; so she simply decided to avoid them as much as she could.
She was caught up in her thinking that she did not realize that the trees where becoming less dense and that light now filtered through them. It wasn't until she stepped into a clearing that she stopped and realized her mistake. Before her were many tents and people walking about. Instantly she was slightly fearful; not knowing if these people were human or not. 'Is this a campground of some sort?' She thought started as she looked at the site before her.

Shendeth woke to a faceful of ground; it appeared that he had rolled right out of his hammock during the night. Nightmares again? He groaned and rolled over into a sitting position, blinking away the sleep. Then he sprang quickly to his feet, got ready, and pushed aside the black tent cloth to reveal the Cirque in all the bustle of late afternoon. He didn't even try to keep up with the schedule, and was chronically late to everything. Including mornings.
He decided to head towards the campfire, as he was not able to remember the last time he'd eaten food. While Shen was walking along the row of tents on the outer circle of camp, however, he stopped and doubled back to have a second look into the woods. A young woman was just standing there, staring at the camp. Shen came and went from the Cirque as he pleased, and couldn't say he knew absolutely everyone, but he was pretty sure he'd never seen her before. From the way she was looking, he suspected that the rest of the campers would think the same. "Hey." he called out, and walked casually over to her out of more curiosity than friendliness. The half-Vampaneze tilted his head and looked at her. "I don't believe we've met." His voice was low, sharp, always with a sarcastic undertone and a British accent. The corners of his mouth twitched a little, but whether that was his form of a friendly smile, as he would hope, depended on her reaction. He'd met plenty of nasty strangers during his travels.

Cloe looked at the newcomer with hesitation. Even though she was an Elemental; it was difficult for her to tell the difference between a human and a non-human. That was why she avoided nearly everyone; because she knew that a slip up could be bad for her. Still, she knew that when being addressed by someone that you should be polite and, as a result, she smiled kindly as this approaching stranger. "Hello." She paused for a moment to collect her thoughts. "No we haven't met...I did not realize that there was a campsite this far into the woods." She said as she glanced around. She was nervous, but she was trying her best to hide it; only partly failing. She knew that when her emotions peaked; her eyes changed color and her powers started to show. Even now, Cloe was fighting the urge to allow her powers to flow and made sure to keep herself in check. "My name is Cloe, what's yours?" She asked, trying to be casual. She was hoping that my learning more about this guy, that she could see if he was someone that she needed to avoid or if she was safe.

Cloe. A nice name, though it didn't say much about her. She seemed friendly, if a bit nervous. And she didn't know about the Cirque, unless she had something to hide. Maybe both were the case. He paused for a moment, then smiled back. "I'm Shendeth. Or just Shen, if you like." Whatever worked; he liked his full name, but it was a bit long. He held out his hand to shake. Shen had pretty average hands, save for the blood red colour of his fingernails. A detail he forgot might seem strange. Shaking hands was gesture he'd always found a bit silly, but it seemed the appropriate thing to do. "If you weren't on your way to the Cirque, what were you doing in the woods?" A suitable answer to that was all he'd want to know. Even so, he shifted to the side a bit, so that she could walk forward through the Cirque's borders if she wanted.
