The not so young blond vampire walked deeper along one of the many paths winding down the mountains. Each he had kept a map of though he knew that was fairly pointless. The mountains here never stopped changing and constantly developed new paths, thus he always found himself drawing new maps so he'd not get lost. There was a sense of adventure when looking for vampaneze to consult with. But then there was also a sense of sadness, this is what he's come to, looking for vampaneze in the valley planing against his own clan!
Pushing these thoughts aside, Kurda walked deeper down the mountainous terrain finally nearing the bottom. The bottom was a better view of looking up, he'd be able to see more movement then down. Kurda walked looking around now for any sign of movement, he kept his nose, and eyes peeled for the smell and site of them. Some vampaneze didn't agree with what he did thus, he was as equally unwelcome as any other vampire.
Kurda sighed lightly as he continued on his endeavor, in no-man's land, only the vampaneze ruled. He touched the scar on his cheek, remembering when and which vampaneze gave it to him, hopefully it'd be enough to say, I come in peace. Letting a vampaneze mark a vampire was no small feet, first off, it showed his willingness to listen and he was, at their mercy. Coming in here practically unarmed in their territory? Yeah, he was at their mercy!
"Who's there?!" he called hearing movements, some one was watching him. He looked up along the caverns above.
Ophelia had smelled the scent. At first she thought it to be the vampire she had met a few nights ago, as it had that faint scent of him. She liked that one, he was a bit daring, but a very collected man. She admired people like that. She got a few feet closer only to realize that it wasn't him at all, but another man.
Her once hopeful smile changed into a curious smirk. I think that I must get closer to him, and investigate this man more. She thought to herself. Ophelia had regained much of her strength from when she met Mika, feeding only last night. Her flit was still a good one, and she could easily catch up with the Vampire, and possibly go unnoticed if he wasn't being observant.
She flitted by him, and seconds after passing him, heard him shout out. Obviously she couldn't get past this one, which was a pity in a way, and in another it was going to make her night much more interesting.
She flitted in front of him again and stopped, about a foot ahead of him. It took a moment for her hair to catch up, swaying side to side before settling down. She crossed her arms and cocked her hips. "So many Vampires running around in Vampaneze territory these days." She muttered to herself, looking up and examining the man in front of her.
Kurda felt the wind shift, he knew something was happening. He watched the seemingly young vampaneze in front of him. "I come in peace." he told her with a slight nod, he showed her his palms in a way to show he was unarmed. What was he gonna do anyways? Palm her to death? What the heck kinda tactic was that? Anyways...
"my name is Kurda Smahlt, I don't know if you heard of me or not but I meet with vampaneze such as yourself and we discuss a variety of issues. But we can talk about whatever you want."
He looked at her tilting his head slightly to show the scars on his cheek, hopefully that was proof of some sort of peace right? Eh, he had one vampaneze tell him they were fake and he had to engage in combat but that vampaneze happened to be drunk on ale and very new to the world of the night. In conclusion he wasn't the best vampaneze to approach but this one seemed sober and fairly calm.
Ophelia uncrossed her arms and blinked. She didn't understand why the man was acting like she planned to attack. What did he have she wanted? At the time she couldn't see anything that she felt the need to attack him for. She crossed her arms again and walked closer to him to get a better inspection. That was Ophelia for you, always stepping right on the boundary and ignoring personal space. She reached up and pushed his hands down, he looked stupid holding them in the air like he was waiting to catch something.
"What is it with Vampires and thinking that we will always strike the first blow?" She questioned, it wasn't something she wanted him to answer, but she liked to ask things aloud and not get a response back, she loved rhetorical questions.
She shook it off and looked back at him. She reached over and ran a finger down the scar on his face, looking at him curiously. She smirked and removed her hand, placing it on her hip. "Who gave you those, may I ask?" She asked, really wanting to know this time.
Kurda watched her he put his hands back to his sides. It was a bit awkward personal space and all didn't seem to apply for her. That or she just didn't care but he couldn't complain. He chuckled slightly at her question though did not answer, getting the impression it wasn't meant to be answered.
Why? Well, because the two sides were cold. Each would not hesitate to kill the other it was quite simple yet sad, can't we all just be friends? Apparently not! It wasn't that hard, if only each side was better at the term compromise and not, win and loose. Warriors never used their heads like him, that's why he is going to become a prince. He uses his head and some began to see sense in his words and now are too.
"A vampaneze a wile back." Kurda answered, it was Gannan Harst. He remembered the infamous prince's brother easily however it was not known very well or publicized Vancha and Gannan were brothers. Sad though, each brothers had to be at arms against one another, he remembered being told by the purple dressed vampire, but he swore not to tell. "
Ophelia wrinkled her nose and examined him once more. She walked around him once, running a hand along his shoulder and inhaling his scent. Wherever he came from there were more of his kind. What Ophelia couldn't understand was why the Vampires were coming onto Vampaneze lands. She thought that the they shouldn't be doing this, someday one is likely to get hurt. The man was lucky she showed up instead of some of the other, more fierce Vampaneze. They wouldn't hesitate to fight him. She, however, was more interested in finding more out about him.
"What's your name?" She asked, walking back in front of him and looking at his eyes, they weren't red like hers underneath the contacts. That was something she would forever envy about Vampires, they never seemed to lose all of their human characteristics. That was something Ophelia was slowly losing every day.
"Kurda, Kurda Smahlt." He answered her he watched her examin him. It felt a little creepy, he'd never had a vampaneze be so up close and personal with him, hopefully it meant he was accepted by her. Probably not but,all the same the man could hope. the only fight he has gotten into with a vampaneze was one of his first encounters years ago.. ouch.
Kurda watched her he told her, "I'm a sort of negotiator for both parties." he nodded yup, he had to now wait and see what she'd do. Either get angry and he'd have to flee, or not and he could continue with his work once again.
The wind kicked up slightly, with the promise of a soon to be rainy day, Kurda glanced up at the sky, clouds overhead were beginning to accumulate in the sky. Yup, rainy day soon, he'd have to take some cover in the caves and continue onward before the rain hit.
Ophelia nodded, taking in the name. It was a bit different, Kurda. Yet again it seemed that many Vampires had odd names. "I'm Ophelia Hemingway." She replied, in her opinion, Ophelia was a very normal, common name. She liked it though, she thought it suited her, in a way at least.
She wanted to burst into laughter when he said he was a negotiator for both of the two. A vampire negotiator? It just didn't seem logical, she would definitely have to think about that for a while, as he didn't seem very neutral at first, although looks can be deceiving. "You? A negotiator? I find that hard to believe, why would you want to negotiate with Vampaneze? We can be very hard-headed at times." She said with a light laugh. It was true, afterall.
She pushed the hair from her face and looked him over again. "But I'm fine with it as long as you don't try and kill me." Ophelia added.
Kurda watched her reaction he said, "pleasure to meet you Ms. Hemingway." he looked Ophelia up and down quick, then chuckled lightly at her reaction, he's had worse. "same here." as long as he wasn't chased with a knife or something, he was perfectly dandy, though more dandy if he gets another ally.
"I want to know your opinions on the vampires, and if the two would rejoin, what it would take, to you to rejoin the vampires." he informed her. "and I am listening." this wasn't just some pushover wanna be thing, he's been meeting with vampaneze for a long time! not as long as he's been around but pretty long, after he was made a general so... about... he's spent about fifty earth years on this? around that, fifty to sixty and even then he had the dream.
the two clans had to recombine before the vampaneze lord's coming or everyone was doomed for nothing but carnage. Something no one wanted, Kurda had gathered. The vampires weren't happy with vampaneze way of living, but they didn't want to have a huge war if they could avoid it.. well at least that is how Vancha saw it, why else would he have nominated him to be a vampire prince? He watched Ophelia's movements waiting for a response.
Ophelia crossed her arms. She couldn't understand why he was asking her that question. Of everything to ask a young Vampaneze lady, that? Of course, she had already gathered that he was a rather odd sort, but she didn't mind, not everyone was like her, and she could definitely say not everybody was like him either. She shrugged, looking to the ground to think over her answer, she didn't know if she had to be careful or not, Vampires seemed unpredictable to her.
"Vampires are, well..." She tried to think of the right word, which wasn't very easy. "Vampires are vampires I suppose. In a sense, I wouldn't be here without them. They don't bother me as long as they're not ticking me off, because then I'll gladly fight to a death. Vampires like you though, you're fine." She finished with a smile, she felt quite satisfied with her reply.
Ophelia eyed him carefully and smirked. "What do you think of Vampaneze?" She questioned.
Kurda watched her and listened to her response. "so you'd be open to the idea of the vampaneze and vampires rejoining each other once again?" he asked her. He needed to know the thoughts, opinions and feelings of the vampaneze to better understand them. They were, almost all like them accept for the killing and the fire coffin which he has never seen. He was told once if he ever laid eyes on it he'd be blinded so as never to show others where it lies, not that it'd matter. But yeah...
"The vampaneze.... truth be told I can not say I agree with the murdering of human lives every time they feed but I am happy with the arrangement of peace both sides seem to have for the time being and I'm glad that it seems to be staying that way for a wile yet." he glanced at her waiting for her reaction to his response.
There was a long silence and the light pitter patter and howls of wild dogs that roamed the lands searching for food they might not find until they loose hope. But that's the trouble with hope, it comes when you need it the most, strengthening your belief in it, what if hope never comes for us vampires? Kurda thought, that was something he worried over.
