The smoke of the extinguished fire was rising up into the dark night sky. There was a slight breeze that moved Aria's bright red hair ever so slightly. Her jeans that she was wearing were covered in mud as she sat on the grass and the back top that she was wearing blended in with the scenery around her. Aria looked around the tents, there was no one out there, most people had probably gone to sleep but Aria just wanted to stay next to the fire. She had already bothered enough people asking if polar bears would burn if they went to a hot place - as usual no one answered - and she just wanted some time to herself. Picking up a twig on the floor, she poked the remains of what was a fire and sighed.
After a while Aria threw the stick, she got up off the grass and walked towards a log nearby. Sitting down on the log she heard someone coming out of the tent. She tried to keep quite, she was talkative at the best of times and she knew she shouldn't be up this late. Trying to see who was walking out of the tent, Aria heard mutters coming from the other side of the tent she sat behind. Straining to hear the voices, Aria almost fell of the log she was on as she heard someone come out of the tent opposite her and walk towards where she sat. Trying to remain quite, she tried hard to not be noticed, but she probably already had.

Bijou stepped around one of the many tables that were set up, happy that most of the other 'freaks' had cleaned up their plates. She had waited for the fire to go out and grabbed some food. Ever since she woke up with burn marks and without memories she had been afraid of fire. But Mr.Tall was convinced that she could over come it so he made her stand by the embers for a few minutes every night in a way to make her over come it. But all she did was stand there, feeling the snake 'tattoos' on her wrists hiss and twist in hatred of the dying flame. But to her surprise she was not alone tonight. "Hello..." Her voice was deep, yet soft. After the nine months she had been there she hadn't encountered anyone when she came to-unwillingly-conquer her fears.

Aria tried to stay still, "Erm.. Hey," She said. Her voice was quite high and when she was happy she usually spoke quite fast. "Sorry, I know. I shouldn't be out this late," She stayed seated on the log. Even though the amount of times she got told off for staying out past when she should be, she always stayed out. Aria sighed and picked up another twig off the floor. She looked down at the floor not bothering to look who was standing there.
Aria never usually sat by the camp fire, she usually sat behind a tent, until people found out. It was a stupid rule in her opinion, she wasn't her usual self tonight. She just wanted some time to think for herself and she didn't want to sit behind a tent. She liked the campfire, she liked fire on a whole. Not taking into an account that it was red her favourite colour, but she just found it fascinating. She didn't exactly know why, it was just something she liked.

Bijou smiled, "Don't worry about it, I'll cover for ya." She sat down next to the girl. Turning to look at her Bijou pointed at her temple. "I've got sonar, anyone even comes out of their tent I'll know about it." She usually didn't talk to anyone, but having someone next to her helped to calm her nerves, even if the snake 'tattoos' on her wrists were slithering up and down her arms having panic attacks. "I'm Bijou, most most call me Oracle." Most of the other freaks went by their show names, and as a telepath they called her Oracle.

Aria smiled at her, she would at least be able to stay there without people telling otherwise. As she continued to play with the stick she found the woman spoke more. She almost sighed when she said that she had a sort of 'sonar'. Aria always liked when she saw new people at the cirque, but most turned out to have some sort of ability and Aria always felt like she was the person everyone though was a bit weird rather then the other way around. Aria looked at the woman as she spoke her name: Bijou. It was quite an usual name, but she was sure she heard that name before somewhere.. Aria just couldn't put her finger on where.
"Oh.. Yeah.. I'm Aria," She smiled slightly. "Or Ari, I don't exactly have another name, unless you count my middle name.." She paused and looked down at the floor again. She hated her middle name 'Millie' some people had called her 'Millie' in the past even though it was her middle name which Aria never seemed to got. Aria didn't mind her fist name, she liked it. She wasn't too keen on her last, what was the point of having a last name in her opinion. Especially if she didn't actually have anyone related to her, no one to share the last name with.

Bijou stared at the dying flames, silent. She watched the embers extinguish and twirl. A few logs remained, half burnt. The sight of the wood sent shivers down her spine, reminding her of the burn marks that had long since healed. Oracle couldn't help but retreat in her own thoughts, and others. Most of the cirque were asleep, but a few were just waking.

Aria didn't say much, although she usually did by now. She was just fed up, she had tried to get away from the cirque before, but she was always found. Also she knew she couldn't fend for herself for very long without any money. Throwing the stick she had in her hand into the bushes she looked at Bijou out of the corner of her eye. She couldn't tell because of the darkness but she almost looked scared. Aria wasn't sure of what, the most scarist thing she could think of was spiders that were probably in the bushes at the moment. But even so, people have different fears.
After a few minutes of silence, Aria spoke, "You don't like the fire, do you?" She asked. She didn't understand why Bijou would be scared of the fire, Aria didn't so much as flinch when someone came up to her with a burning match and almost shove it into her face. She did otherwise kick them for almost burning her. Aria by now could hear some people getting up out of there tents. She didn't realise how long she was sitting on the log for.
