Bijou mentally kicked herself as she sat on the steps outside of Mr.Tall's van. She usually came around the same time of day and he would have a task for her to do to keep her entertained, usually relaying messages from him to someone else. It kept her focused on something and helped with her head aches. It helped to keep her from hearing every mind in a block radius and just on one person in particular. But today she had been so stuck on her usual routine that Bijou forgot that Mr. Tall was going to be gone for the day. She tugged at the sleeves of her jacket, most would find it rather pecular since it was 90 degrees out, but it hid her scars. Scars, one could call them that, they were identical snakes that moved and hissed of their own accord. And at the moment they were going crazy, sliding an hissing. Bijou knew why, they always did when around a, "Vampire."It was a statment that she knew was true, vampire and vampanese thoughts were always a little fuzzy when she heard them.

Larten found himself in the presence of Bijou. "Hello. Why are you here in front of Mr. Tall's van?" The Vampire saw the snakes and he narrowed his eyes, "You do realize that I will not harm you right Oracle?" Larten still didn't like how the snakes hissed when he was around. "Can't you control them? Or do they do as they please?" Larten did not know Bijou all that well, but she was a big assest around the camp. He didn't know what she did exactly, but he had seen that she did things for Mr. Tall on almost a daily basis.
Larten waited quietly for the girl to respond. "What do you do Oracle? I don't really know you and I usually know all of the members of the Cirque and you I don't really know you." The Vampire thought that he could get to know Bijou a little better and at least know what she liked or didn't like. If he knew that much then his relationship with the girl would be stronger. Larten was friends with most of the Cirque and all of them knew that he was a Vampire. It seemed that Oracle knew what he was as well.

Bijou smiled sheepishly, she didn't talk to people other than Mr.Tall much."Waiting for him to get back, and I know you wouldn't your Mr.Tall's oldest friend, that I know of at least."She tugged at the sleeves of her jacket once more, the damn things just don't shut up, no matter now much she may want them to."If I could control them, they'd be long gone."Bijou didn't like the things much, but they could always sense power. It wasn't just the undead that they freaked over, it was any one who could render her helpless. They would freak out over a lighter, thus making her afraid of fire. Bijou titled her head at the question, most knew what she could do because they saw her work on and off the stage."I'm a telepath, I read minds and manipulate objects."Or at least that's all she thinks she could do. With less than a years worth of memory to go by that was all she knew.

Larten understood, "Ah. I see." He looked at where the snakes were warily. "So how come they do as they please? I have never seen tattoos do that before and I am just curious." Larten stayed where he was because he didn't like the hissing snakes. He was used to cats doing that, but not snakes. Not even Evra Von's snake did that. In fact the creature was as docile as a kitten. Though one false move and it would lash out. No animal was without defense capabilities. The Vampire looked the blonde girl over, "So the manipulating objects. That would be called telekenesis correct?" Larten was just trying to understand the performer that he had seen a few times, but never spoke to.
She was right on one thing though. Mr. Tall WAS a close friend of his. That was why Larten was always at the cirque when he wasn't traveling or at Vampire Mountain. The mysterious man was one of the few who cared about misfits and took them in. Mr. Tall may be mysterious , but he cared for those he had taken in and even though it didn't seem apparant they were all friends. The performers slept in beds, they ate normal food, and they were warm at night. The only one that didn't have that luxery was the Wolfman. Thanks to tampering from Mr. Tiny the poor creature was reduced to living like an animal. The Wolfman was well cared for, but kept in the cage for everyone's protection: The Wolfman and everyone outside the cage.

Bijou's eye brows furrowed for a moment,"Not quite sure, I've only got nine months to go by, really. I think its probably a way they defend themselves, they rarely even move around humans."That was the one bad thing about being one of the freaks, when she joined the cirque she had no memories what so ever. Mr.Tall found her just outside of the abandoned building they were performing in. She was unconscious and had burn marks up and down her arms. When they healed the snakes appeared."You know your freaks, Mr.Crepsley."Bijou couldn't help but smile, most people didn't even notice when she was around. It was probably because she was so quiet. Bijou didn't like talking to most people because she knew what they were going to say before they said it. Except for vampires and vampanese. Their thoughts had just enough static to keep her guessing. Unfortunately she had only met a few during the past few months.

Larten nodded, "True, but these freaks don't get locked in cages." His face hardened, "Save for the Wolfman. Though I understand the reasoning behind it. We would be closed down if he got lose on the general public." The Vampire looked at Bijou, "Nine months? What happened? I mean why only nine months?" He was curious, but he wasn't going any closer to the woman only because of the snake tattoos. Maybe he could help her to regain her memory. After all he had some ability in that area, but nothing too fancy. Not like Bijou's anyway.
The Vampire thought the woman was kind of pretty. He admired her blonde hair and green eyes. He wanted to get to learn more about the woman. He knew most of the performers and Larten liked making friends despite his stern exterior. The only thing he wished Bijou didn't have was the snake tattoos, "So why do they not like me?" Larten was curious to know exactly why the snakes didn't like him.

Bijou gave him a playful look, one that said 'are you kidding me?' but after seeing the seriousness of his expression she knew he wasn't joking. Her smile broadened into a grin and did something that she hadn't done in all the time she had been at the cirque. She laughed, it was similar to the sound of a chime when a gentle breeze past through it. It held the innocence of a child."For Mr.Tall's best friend, he doesn't tell you much. Does he?" Bijou shrugged off her jacket, leaving her in only a black wife beater. "Last winter Mr.Tall found me half dead and unconscious just outside of one of the many abandoned buildings the cirque was performing in. I had burn marks from my finger tips straight down to my elbows." She tilted her wrists so that he could see that the snakes wrapped around her entire arm, moving hissing. They were identical on each arm, the color of rubies. "They healed to reveal these things. Strangely enough, that was when I could hear every bodies thoughts. I had no memories of who I was or how I had come by my powers. Mr.Tall named me after the street corners I was found on let me join the cirque. I'm a stray of sorts."
Her hands fell into her lap and she shook her head. "You don't have to be afraid, there two dimensional. It's not that they don't like you. Your power worries them. Its the brute strength, I won't go closer than twenty feet of the wolf man. They freak out."

Larten shrugged, "Hiberneous doesn't have to tell me everything. He does his own thing." The Vampire nodded when Bijou told him that the snakes were only two dimentional. "So Oracle. How do you plan on regaining your memories?" Larten leaned against Hiberneous's van. The Vampire wondered where his friend shot off to. Larten hadn't seen his friend in some time and wanted to catch up on things.
Larten stood up again, "If you want something to do than you can help me with Madam Octa." Not many people liked helping Larten with the spider, but it had to be done no matter how bad the chore was. The worse of two evils in his opinion was the Wolfman. Larten always made sure to keep a flute with him, but even that sometimes didn't work, but Madam Octa was his most closest companion and he was looking forward to showing her off to Seba. His old mentor and friend loved spiders and was always interested in new species.

Bijou looked away, and began wringing her wrists, she supposed could be called a habit. The snakes began to twist and turn with her movement. "I'm not quite sure..." Although she would never admit it, she was afraid to regain her memories. All she had figured out was that one of the last places she had been was a house that was in the middle of burning down. It was a reoccurring nightmare that had her waking up in the middle of the night crying.
Oracle grinned when he mentioned the infamous Lady Octa, she had yet to see the spider up close. "I'd love to!" The girl leaped to her feet and stepped off of the single step in front of Mr.Tall's van.

Larten smiled, "Just an early warning. No sudden moves. Madam Octa is extremely posionous and if she got out and bit you then there would be a small problem. I only have enough anti-venom for one cure." He then led the way back to his van. The Vampire often enjoyed showing off his spider and couldn't wait for Bijou to see her. The exotic spider was probably sleeping and if so then Larten would be sorry to wake her up, but he found that Madam Octa tended to follow his schedule and would most likely be up now, waiting for her breakfast. Larten then opened his van and went staight to Madam Octa. Then he took off the cover and showed Bijou the spider.

The teenager followed a respectable step behind him, a habit she didn't know how she got. When they arrived at Mr.Crepsley's van she waited for him step in before she followed. When he took off a simple covering Bijou grinned. Resting peacefully just a foot away from her was the famous Madame Octa. "She's beautiful." Bijou's voice was soft, but her eyes were wide with wonder. Her grey orbs scanned ever bit of the spider, from the long legs to her many eyes.

Madam Octa then poked a leg through the cage at Larten and the Vampire laughed, "Alright you little terror!" Larten pulled out the food for Madam Octa and put some of it in her cage. Madam Octa leapt onto the food with vicious hunger. Larten admired his spider a lot, "As you can quite see she is fast which makes her extremely dangerous. I don't even know what kind of spider she is, but I have a friend who makes it a habit to know about the different kinds of spiders in existance and to know what they like to eat and what their qualities are, etc." Larten hoped that Seba would know of Madam Octa's species. If not then he may have found the first spider of the species and might get it named after him.

Bijou nodded, watching the creature. She was fascinated with animals of all sorts. Her subconscious mind was in love with them, simply because they were silent. So many voices swirling around interrupting her own thoughts were almost unbearable. But with animals the silence was wonderful, it allowed her to breathe. Bijou smiled at Lady Octa, watching her devour the food. "She sure is something." Bijou looked up at Larten and smiled.

Larten smiled, "Yes she is." Something like a pain the butt. Even if Madam Octa was a pain at times the Vampire still liked the spider. The blue and red spider was very pretty, but very dangerous. The antivenom was hidden inside his coffin to make sure that they were safe in case Madam Octa ever bit him. Larten opened the cage and whistled a little bit. Madam Octa settled herself on his hand and watched Bijou from the Vampire's hand. She obeyed his thoughts of behaving. Madam Octa learned quickly how to attune herself to Larten's thoughtwaves.
